The warm-up period is expected to last 1 - 2 weeks as all the parents in each bubble join and familiarise with the app. The exact duration for your child’s School Bubble will vary depending on how quickly parents join. Encourage other parents to join to help speed up this process.

No, to avoid confusion and potential duplication only one parent should report on behalf of the child / children in your family.

However, we encourage your partner to report for themselves, or for you to report on behalf of your partner. The more people we have reporting, the more complete the picture we will have of the spread of COVID in each region and therefore the more powerful our ability to predict outbreaks in your region

Once your child’s School Bubble is active in-app, we will share the following information with other parents and it will always be shared anonymously (i.e. your child’s identity will never be revealed to other parents in the Bubble in association with any information we share with the Bubble):

• How many parents are currently part of your child’s Bubble and School Network
• How many children have been reported for in the past 24hrs in your child’s in-app Bubble and School Network
• How many children are feeling well vs unwell in your child’s Bubble and in their school overall (please note that children feeling unwell do not equate to confirmed COVID cases - they may be unwell with symptoms of other conditions)

The below information will be shared with the school and it will always be shared anonymously (i.e. your child’s identity will never be revealed to the school in association with any information we share with them):

• Aggregated reported symptoms and positive COVID cases amongst children in each School Bubble.
• Key data insights from the wider COVID Symptom Study app.

• The school will have been made aware of the positive COVID case by the parent of that child per our instructions in-app (note that our app will not identify infected individuals to the school - we will only notify the school of the presence of cases in any given Bubble anonymously).
• The school will then follow Public Health England guidelines to rapidly identify individuals who have been in close contact with the infected child and reach out to the respective parents. The school will inform you directly if they feel that your child is at risk.

To assign your child to the correct bubble, return to Edit Profile for your child’s profile > enter your Unique School Network Code provided by your school leader > identify the correct bubble for your child and select it
